Leaving Your Bags During The Day?

As it is better to be safe than sorry, the first piece of advice is to travel as light as possible and not take a lot of expensive \ non-mobile gadgets or other expensive things with you. But if there are things that you cannot carry around, it is generally acceptable to leave them in your room...

How Many Airports in New Delhi?

To add to the above answer, there is one airport which is used for commercial flights, but it is split into domestic and international terminals which are located quite far apart. The other two airports are used for defence and private aircraft respectively and are off bounds for most civilians...

    Alcohol in India

It is somewhat incorrect to say that most people in India don't drink alcohol, especially for the younger generation. The only downside is that there is a small social stigma attached to consuming alcohol (which, thankfully is declining rapidly). And to answer your question, yes, you can get...

Precautions when Traveling in India for First Timers

My advice is rather simple: Keep some insect repellant. Mosquitoes are a nuisance and falling ill due to dengue or malaria on a trip abroad is not anyone's idea of fun. Apart from this keeping a supply of water from a trusted (clean) source is always a plus. On an unrelated note, it may be cool...

How Does An American Girl Find A Date In India

I am kind of surprised that no one has mentioned Tinder here yet, especially in the Indian context where it is less of a hookup app and more of a dating social app. I believe you can have some good finds on there if you're willing to deal with some creeps. If that not your cup of tea, maybe just...

    The Taj Mahal

When I went pictures were allowed with a fee for taking a camera inside. It is very beautiful, but be careful of beggars and scam artists in general. It's a one time sort of visit in my opinion, but I'd recommend it if you haven't seen it.

Travelling With Your Significant Other (so)

Travelling with a companion is always better. if you love tha companion, it is the best. If travelling with a female in India though I suggest making sure her needs are accounted for (proper wash rooms, safety, etc.). Best of luck.

    Tickets To India From Usa

The flight costs are almost the same either way. I know this because I travelled to LA this way, hoping that tickets would be cheaper on the way back. The USA tickets actually ended up being marginally cheaper. Just book them in the US itself, it'll also be much more convenient.

    Traffic In India

As Indians we have become quite used to it. I understand how it can be a shock to someone who hasn't grown up with it. I was just as surprised when I visited LA for the first time. I had never known traffic to move that smoothly!

    Does Delhi Have Casinos?

Gambling is strictly illegal in Delhi and so the idea of casinos here is unheard of. There are some shady clubs that have something resembling but I wouldn't recommend them. Overall, Delhi is just not big on gambling.

    Spiti Valley Weather In June

As somebody who has Spiti on his list of places to visit, can somebody suggest the best way to reach Spiti from Delhi? Also, it would be great if you could provide an estimate of expenses while staying there. Thanks!

    Vaishno Devi Helicopter

To add to Deven's comment, I'd like to stress on the fact that the helicopter rides are sold out in mere minutes, and thus it is very competitive. It's like a flash sale, almost :p I'd suggest starting well before time and checking the website every couple of minutes exactly 1 month before...

    Robbers Cave Dehradun

I visited Robbers cave on my visit to Dehradun when I was in college. The caves are not the main attraction, really as most tourists just prefer to spend time in the area around the caves. There are also many people selling drugs there, so be wary of strangers approaching you. Apart from this a...

Best Time To Go To India?

Yes, that advice makes a lot of sense, though in your case as it is for a wedding you may not have much of a choice. If you have a free choice though, make sure to visit in the 'golden zone' of February to March. The days are very pleasant and nights dont have mosquitoes. Also some festivals...

    India's Biblical Connection?

This was quite fascinating to me, as I have always associated India with Hinduism. This is now in my list of must see places. Also interesting is the fact that this fits in with the Bible!
