Yeah - what is up with people like that? I'm always baffled why people feel the need to go in and out during the night...I mean, you (usually) have bathroom facilities within your room so it can't be that they need to answer the call of nature. Just stay in there and go to sleep!!

That's so interesting - it had never occurred to me that a brand would have different variations when it was sold in other countries, I assumed it would just be the same things we could buy here.

I can't believe a) I hadn't noticed there was a section here for Mauritius, and b) how little I know about it. I thought it was a country in itself, like the Maldives - is it actually part of India? Or is it included here because it's nearby? Is it near enough to do a short trip to Mauritius...

My worst experience like this was a hotel here in England, where the doors had some sort of mechanism on them that meant they always pull themselves closed (so you can't go out and leave them open accidentally I suppose). A lot of people just let doors slam behind them, which is annoying in...

Believe me, I'm no Renoir myself, paudu! My paintings are relatively abstract so I don't generally capture realistic detail - it's good as it means I never feel like I got it 'wrong'. You should give it a try some time!

Hi copicgo (is that name because you use Copic markers? ;)), good to see another arty type here. I'm really bad at drawing people - they never seem to come out how I want them to! But I can imagine that a busy scene might be a good opportunity to try and capture the feeling of rush and bustle...

Ha ha, I wish I could be that spontaneous! It's just not in my nature. :confused: Would you do any forward planning before you leave to, say, come up with a checklist of things you might want to do or see? Or do you literally get there and then find out what is in the area?

Thank you jigisha! That is partly my worry - that there are a number of languages spoken across the country as a whole. I would try to learn some phrases but I there seem to be lots of languages I'd need to learn them in...and even then I'd be worried that I was using the wrong one.

I really enjoy painting as a hobby and plan to take a sketchbook and small kit with me when I travel. Are there any places in India that are famous for attracting artists? Like how Montmartre was (and still is) an artistic haven within Paris?

Following on from this - for those who have visited a number of Indian temples, which one would you recommend for a person who wants to see just one? I'm a bit of a geek over beautiful architecture and would love to see inside a temple, but I would rather see one really awesome one than visit...
