    Emergency Phone Numbers In India

I'm planning on making sure my whole family has the numbers for the hotels where we'll be staying and the consulate, but what are some other phone numbers we should all have while we're there? Is there a countrywide number that covers most emergencies (like 911 in the U.S.)?

    Wearing Sandals

Gee, I hadn't even thought about this. When the weather is warm, it's a no-brainer for me to wear sandals or fancy flip flops. I'd better start shopping now for something fashionable yet safe and comfortable.

    Airfare Deals

Do you have any tips or tricks to find the best deals on airfare? What was the source of your best deal? I've gotten some good prices in the past, but nothing that I would consider a great deal.

    Tofu

Is tofu readily found in Indian cuisine? I don't eat meat and tofu is a main source of protein for me. I think a tofu curry would be very tasty, but I don't know if such a thing exists.

    India's Sweets

I don't eat desserts very often, but I absolutely love rice pudding. I can't wait to try it in India. Topping it with raisins and cashews is a brilliant idea for some extra sweetness and a crunch.

    Traveling With Children

Do not let them out of your sight and make sure that they mind their manners. My daughter travels with me everywhere and I have noticed that some cultures are offended by rude children. Not that my kid is a total brat, but she did have the occasional moment when she was a toddler.

How To Bargain At Flea Markets In India?

I make it a point to do some homework before going to foreign flea markets. When I get there, I usually do three things. First, I establish what I think is a fair price for something. Second, I confirm that it's authentic (Where was it made? Is it handcrafted? What type of materials were used to...

    Rooms Near The Elevator

I always try to avoid being near the elevator. Depending on the hotel, the noise can be constant. I'm not one of those people who expects absolute quiet when I stay at a hotel, but I can't deal with a continuous barrage of voices outside my door.

Best Place To See Rhinos In India?

I was just reading somewhere that The Sunderban is a great park for seeing rhinos in the wild. You'd probably have to book a safari there, but I'm sure you'd get to see rhinos and many other beautiful creatures.

    Honeymoon On Andaman Island

I've seen many nice resorts advertised in that area. When you say "private accommodations," are you referring renting a home or condo? It looks like a beautiful place for a honeymoon!

How Do You Save Up For Your Travels?

I have a savings account just for extensive travel plans. I pay for the smaller trips (long weekends) with cash, but the larger trips that are going to cost several thousand dollars are paid for with the savings account.

Fun Idea - Be An Extra In A Bollywood Movie!

My whole family would really get a kick out of this! I'm glad I saw it mentioned here because I don't think I would have thought of it otherwise. Thanks for the tips!

Not Enough Days To Do Everything

I have this same complaint just about everywhere I go. You know you've picked a good destination when there is so much to see and do!

    Short Term Yoga Classes

Are there any good places for travelers to take yoga classes? I'm thinking our trip will be only a couple of weeks, so if anyone could recommend a place that would welcome us for just a few classes, that would be great.
