Every year a camel fair/festival is held there and lots of people go there to see that.

There is a separate fee for camera in most of the national parks but not in all the national parks and the fee which you have mentioned is not correct. In most of the national parks it is INR. 100 for a video camera and INR. 50 for a digital camera. I do not know of any way around and I think...

Total area of Jaisalmer fort is around 5 sq. km. so you need one full day to cover fort and after that day for camel safari, so I think minimum 2 days are required.

I have been there twice and have stayed there for 10-12 days in the month of October, it's totally safe and if you are going to Jaisalmer then do not forget to go for a camel safari to see sand dunes and sunset at Thar Desert.

I prefer to ignore them and behave as I can't even hear or see them at all, usually they back off after 5-6 failed attempts.

I agree that we can get better deals on some websites but I always prefer to see my bed, washroom and location of the hotel before paying the amount. I always prefer to keep my options open ;)

As you said that you are already using Vodafone in your home country so take my advice and stick to Vodafone in India too. Just go to any Vodafone store and get a prepaid connection, it will not take more than an hour or two to get the services activated.
