    Eating Etiquette In India

Very well put. For a country with such a big populations and such a diversity in languages and customs you couldn't expect anything less. The most common image you have of Indian eating habits are people using their bare hands. Some of my friends told me that I should try it, as the food tastes...

    Can't Take The Heat.

I agree, one of the main differences would be having a extremely spicy dish on a hot day. One of the main reasons there are so many spicy dishes in Asian cuisine is the cooling effect you get after you eat them, your body starts to sweat and your body will cool down.

What Not To Do In India

So far there haven't been a great deal of restrictions mentioned or rather the ones that have been mentioned aren't that different form the majority of the countries. This is the idea that I had of India, due to it's great mix of people and religions it's understandable that there wouldn't be...

    Can't Take The Heat.

Indian food is varied, both in it's savory dishes and it's sweets, but is more famous for it's spicy dishes. Some friends of mine told me that they would often see that the food being served was milder then that served to other Indian clients. Fearing that their western clients couldn't handle...

    Bringing Pets Along To India

I wouldn't recommend taking your pet. I don't doubt that you will miss him but there are very good animal hotels were you leave him. The amount of money that you will spend on the ticket and customs will more then compensate the cost of the hotel provided your stay in India isn't very long.

    Were To Start Visiting India.

Thank you all for your responses. It certainly seems that hit the nail on the head when I mentioned Goa and the fact that it's code to Mumbai makes it the best place to start. I am also quit interested in the Kashmir region seeing as I have seen some pictures and it seems like a great place to...

Unsafe For A Male To Travel Alone?

As it's been said before any country can be as safe or dangerous as you make it. If you decide to adventure into areas that might be considered dodgy, the results might not be the best. Crime rates in India aren't that high taking into account the large population. If it was completely unsafe...

    Wine Tourism In India

This took me completely by surprise. I was not aware that India was a wine producing nation. It makes sense though seen as India is a very large country with huge diversity of climate. I look forward to trying Indian wine. Can anyone tell me what types of styles of wine they make and which are...

    Do You Like To Cook?

I really like to cook. It's not always possible for me but, if I can I do. There is something special about cooking your own food, it can be something quick and simple or something more elaborate. Cooking really connects you to what you are eating and it tastes a whole lot better. It opens a...

    Street Food

India has a great tradition in this area and can put most western countries to shame when it comes to it´s great diversity. Every city prides itself on this convenient " fast food". It often reflects the cities cultural history and the different influences that it has faced. Which city would you...

Some Safety Tips For A Foreign Traveler In India

If there are only four points that have to be taken into account when visiting India. Then India sure does sound like a really safe place to travel too. It's interesting the mention of people giving you food on the train.

    Bizarre Foods In India?

I have seen Bizarre Foods and really enjoyed it. Andrew Zimmerman focuses his attention on the unconventional dishes of a country, not the most popular. Hence the stranger the better. Seeing as India has great variety of cultures, it's comes as no surprise to me that he would find some dishes...

    Were To Start Visiting India.

Where would be a good place to start to get to know India. India is after all a very vast country with a great variety of cultures. For someone that is used to a more western culture would Goa be a good starting point?
