    Unmarried Couples

I don't think it will pose a problem either. Usually one person books the rooms so I don't see how they will know either way. I think they see enough tourists that they would not pay attention to the fact that they aren't married. If women can be on the beach in that dress I am pretty sure...

When And Where Can I See Snow In India?

Funny, when I think of vacations I think of getting to go somewhere warm. I do have friends who go on skiing vacations once a year. They've gone skiing in Europe so it's not that odd for me to hear that someone is asking about snow.

    Dussehra Festival In Kullu

Has anyone gone to the Dussehra Festival in Kullu in October? It is said that it is one of the popular festivals with a grand procession, fair, music and dancing. I would imagine it is colorful and noisy. I love fairs and festivals, they are so alive and vibrant.

Hot Springs At Manikaran After Trekking

I'm interested in knowing more about the hot springs at Manikaran. I read that it is a holy place and that the waters are said to have curative powers. Are there many tourists that visit during the year? Are you allowed to go into the water?

Sri Lanka's Tuk Tuk Drivers Are The Best

That sounds interesting. It would be fun having someone who is knowledgeable about the place drive you around. Obviously they are used to tourists and no doubt know what people want to see or go to. So can you negotiate a price with them?

Bhangarh Fort - The most haunted place in India

Thanks for the pictures and background Chahal. I love a good ghost story but who is supposed to be haunting the place? I would definitely go for the architecture and views alone. Is it very busy during the day or are there usually only a few tourists walking around?

    Colombo

That is definitely a long stopover, 30 hours. I think there is a Colombo City Tour that will take you to some interesting sites along it's route. It usually leaves early morning and returns early afternoon. I believe that is the bus tour amelia88 is speaking of, with the open top double...

    Skeleton Lake , Roopkund, India

Is it easy to travel to Skeleton Lake in Roopkund or does the altitude make it a difficult trek? I read that the lake has hundreds of skeletons littered about the shoreline. For the longest time they weren't sure what had happened to these people, to have so many die in one area. They have...

    Best Area For Snorkeling

Is there a good area for snorkeling? We'd love to go snorkeling on our visit and wondered if there were any nice areas with plenty of sea life? There would have to be a place to rent the equipment as well so we don't need to bring our equipment with us.

Has Anyone Tried House Swapping For Holidays

I agree and I've heard of these before. Although you do hear about the occasional bad tourist, most of the time I've heard good things about it. I'd probably take anything of great value out of the house before I'd let anyone stay there.

    Khajuraho Temples

I think I would go on a walking tour first to see the different temples, it will save you money and you will probably see the exact same thing as the private.

    Camel Safari -- Bikaner

That sounds like it would be a fun thing to do and you're right that you certainly wouldn't do it in the US. I don't suppose it would feel like riding a horse, probably a little more swaying.

Guide To Shopping Bazaars In India By Region!

That is a great idea for small items Jackie. How expensive would it be to mail them home from India? Do you send them by courier or regular mail? I usually make room in my suitcases so I have space to carry them. You always have to make sure you don't go over baggage weight with what you...

Would You Travel To India With A Friend?

I don't see why you couldn't travel with a friend. Many of my friends travel together to different places and enjoy themselves. I think if you are of like minds and share a love of travel it would be an enjoyable adventure.

    Saris And Other Traditional Clothing

I think you are right Amelie. My daughter went into a temple and they gave her a full body wrap to cover her shoulders and legs before she could proceed. I think the saris are lovely and some of the women dress up so beautifully.
