I am short of time but I would have loved to climb a mountain. Or at least go trekking for a half day or do. But my business commitments seem to be taking up too much time on my proposed trip since more clients and associates are wanting to meet me.
India is a cheap destination but at the same time it can be very expensive. What I mean is that if you stay at a five star hotel and hire cabs every day it may turn out to be expensive. If you live in one of the smaller hotels and use public transport it would be cheaper.
A buffet would consist of several items I would presume and a hot breakfast would be a la carte, I think. If it is a reputed hotel then the breakfast is bound to be good unlike smaller ones which may not be serving good food.
It is interesting to know that you can get good views of Mount Everest from places in India. I have seen images of the mountain and I am impressed by the sheer height and the way it looks in those images.
Trains are a very convenient way to get around a country when air fares can be too expensive. I have traveled by train whenever I can and spent a fraction of the money that I would have if I flew.
Kathmandu is a great city with many tourist attractions - my friend has just returned and has good things to say. But if you plan to go mountaineering then you may need to travel up north to the Himalayas.
A friends of mine just returned from Nepal and he told me that cabs are very easily available whether it is day or night. They are not too expensive although long trips may be costly and you may consider going by bus.
I was planning to visit Corbett park during my trip but I am really short of time. Do you think I would be able to fit in Corbett as a day trip or will it take more than a day. By the way I will be staying in Delhi and I have 2 days in the city.
I like taking pictures with my camera whenever I see wild animals. I also take snaps of the scenery in sanctuaries so that I can have a collection of such photographs. What kind of pictures do you take?
I read an interesting story about the Sunderbans in Eastern India. People wear scary black masks behind their heads so that they can scare tigers. But is it for real, I wonder?
I was quite intrigued when I read about Silent Valley, a place in Kerala. I know it sounds like a place where one would engage in meditation. It is one of India's National Parks and is a place worth a visit. I would be going there during my trip to India
I heard about the success of radio cabs in the major cities in India. Do they charge the same tariff in all cities or does it differ from city to city? It is a good and convenient way to get around IMO.
I will be joining a group of trekkers and going for a camping trip in the foothills of the Himalayas. I did not find much information about camping in India. Is it because no one does it or is it too unsafe to do i? Any tips and suggestions would be welcome.
In preparation to my forthcoming visit to India that takes place in a few weeks I would like to teach myself some Hindi. I like to say a few words in the local language when I travel so that people appreciate the fact that I am trying to speak like them. What is the best way to learn Hindi?
I always travel light so that I don't have to leave my bags anywhere and can take them along wherever I go. Besides I never face a delay caused by waiting for luggage since I never need to check in bags while boarding a flight,
