It bothers me when someone I don't know is so close I can see their pores. It will definitely be difficult for me to get used to it but I won't let it ruin my vacation.

I think it would be kind of exciting to eat and have fish swimming all around. Their cuisine is different everyday and ranges from Indian to Italian. It looks yummy.

This is definitely a good idea and I'd give the emergency numbers to relatives just in case. The number for emergencies is 108, for the police 100 and for ambulance 102. I'm not sure if those numbers are for every where. Maybe someone on here can let us know.

I read that Jim Corbett National Park is the best place to see the endangered Bengal tiger. Has anyone been to the park? The site said that it has a large amount of visitors every year. Does that mean it's overly busy all the time? I'm thinking that means the animals are probably disturbed...

I hadn't though of the illegal drug aspect of that since it's herbal tea but I guess they might be suspicious if it's not packaged in it's container. Do you take the herbal medicines every day? If not, I would leave it at home.

Higher rooms make sense. I think you can also look for hostel that are away from the busy cities or pick one of the higher end hostels that don't have a lot of students or visitors but have good reviews.

I agree that there is crime everywhere and not just India, but as a traveler I'd like to feel that it is relatively safe to travel to India. This would definitely make me avoid that area of India and is definitely not good news for their tourism industry. Who would want to visit a city that...
