Summer is mainly gone, well the major hot summer has. I would like to plan my winter holiday with my family, but would like to know the places to visit in Winter in India. When it comes it is easy to decide where to go, because you choose places like hill stations where the weather is cooler...

I have been to Himachal, Leh, Ladakh, Kashmir during the months of June, July but I have never been there during the winter season when the roads are closed. What is it like visiting those places during winter and what transportation options are available? I will be travelling solo.
