I want to go to Ooty for a two week holiday from Bangalore. My mode of transport would be by train, and therefore, I require the Bangalore to Ooty train details.

I would like to know from which train station in Bangalore I would need to leave?

Would the train go all the way to Ooty or would I need to leave from another destination?

What is the shortest time in which I can reach Ooty from Bangalore by train?

What would be the total cost of the journey?

I think you may want the Udhagamandalam Passenger (56143) train. It leaves from Gooty Junction and has a last station of Coimbatore Main Junction. The trip should be about 14 hours and is quite scenic according to most passengers. Some people suggest getting off earlier and going by bus through the mountains, as this is faster, or can be. I do not know about price, but think it should start at Rs 800 for a cheap fare..
