Are there churches in India? I am a Christian and I am planning to travel to India one day. I don't like missing going to church and I hope that there are churches there. I will also like to feel safe, as a Christian.

I'm Indian and from a Christian background, I can assure there are thousands of churches in India. Only about 3% of Indians are Christian but that's still about the same size as the entire population of Australia. Churches will be more common in certain states, usually further South there are more Christians so there you should feel no insecurity and there are easily churches available. Same goes for every major city. Goa and Kerala are two states in the south where roughly a third of the people are Christians, so no problem there. There are three states in the North-East of India where the majority of people are Christians, obviously there is no reason to be insecure about being a Christian there. North and Central India have few Christians, but still it would be extremely unlikely to be in a situation where you are persecuted for your faith. Finding a church in those parts maybe a little harder, though not impossible. FYI, Christianity has been in India since the 1st or 2nd Century AD, it's not as uncommon here as you may think.

I am a Christian too, and the time that we took our trip to India last year we visited a couple of really beautiful, lovely churches. Yes there are a lot of Christians in India and I have no doubt that you will be able to find one that you will be happy with without any trouble.
