I need to go to Badrinath from Haridwar and would like to find out the different modes of transport taxi, volvo bus and flights available and the cost for the journey.
Out of the different modes of transport which one would be the best option?

Which mode of transport would take the less time to reach Badrinath?

Unfortunately there is no Volvo bus or flight which goes to Badrinath from Haridwar. The travel options you have are either a bus or taxi service.
The time to travel would be anything between 10 - 12 hours.
Getting a bus would be much cheaper than getting a taxi, but when it comes to convinience then a taxi would be better, as you can stop where ever you wish and it would be more comfortable.

Cost of bus ticket is about Rs600 each and there are direct buses from Haridwar to Badrinath. It will be a 12-13 hour journey and may be more if there is a traffic problem on the way some where or in case of a land slide which happen often especially during monsoon season.

My advise to you would be to break down your journey into two and stay the night at either Srinagar or Rudraprayag and carry on the next morning. This way your journey would be less then 6 hours on both days and wont be that tiring.
