Direct Flight From Canada To India

I am traveling from Vancouver to Punjab and was thinking about getting a direct flight this time.
It would be a 14-hour long journey so I am not really sure about it and would like to know what the direct flight from Canada to India is like?

When you went on the flight did you face any issues?

My uncle and aunty recently came from Canada to India on a direct flight. They found that it was much easier going on a direct flight, as there isn't the hassle of getting off from the plane then boarding it again. They also said that the plane was all full, so I guess many people prefer the direct flight.

I think its only Air Canada who provide a direct flight to India.

There are no issues on the direct flight, the rest is a personal opinion if you can stay in a plane for 14 hours!

Yes, there are several direct flights from Canada to India, making travel between the two countries much more convenient.

Airlines Operating Direct Flights from Canada to India
As of now, the following airlines offer non-stop flights between Canada and India:

  1. Air Canada – Operates direct flights from Toronto (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR) to Delhi (DEL). They also occasionally have seasonal flights to Mumbai (BOM).
  2. Air India – Offers direct flights from Toronto (YYZ) to Delhi (DEL) and Amritsar (ATQ).
  3. Upcoming Carriers – Airlines like IndiGo and others have shown interest in expanding routes in the future, so we might see more options soon.
Flight Duration
  • Toronto to Delhi – Around 14 to 15 hours
  • Vancouver to Delhi – About 14.5 to 16 hours
  • Montreal to Delhi (seasonal) – Around 13.5 to 15 hours
Alternatives for Non-Direct Flights
If you’re not flying from Toronto or Vancouver, you may need to take a one-stop flight via hubs like London (LHR), Dubai (DXB), or Frankfurt (FRA) with airlines like Emirates, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and British Airways.

Things to Consider
  • Baggage Allowance: Air India generally has better baggage policies compared to Air Canada.
  • Layover vs. Direct: While direct flights are faster, sometimes a layover flight can be more affordable.
  • Visa Requirements for Layovers: If transiting through certain countries, check if you need a transit visa.
For anyone planning to travel soon, it’s best to check with the airlines directly for the latest schedules, fares, and travel restrictions.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more details. Safe travels! ✈️
