How Many States In India?

    I am writing an essay on the Indian states. My first part of the essay is about the number of states, I have googled the question but am finding different answers. So that I am gathering and writing the correct information I would like to know the right answer to how many states in India?

    If possible please also mention all the states, so I can include them in the essay.
