I am currently in India on a holiday and have just come to know that I am pregnant, for some reasons which I don't want to mention I can not keep this pregnancy and need to get an abortion done.

I would like to know how much does an abortion cost in India? If it works out to be costly then I would have to consider leaving early for home and getting it done there.

Cost of abortion in India varies from the duration of the pregnancy, any medical issues and also the place where you get the abortion from.

An abortion for a pregnancy of up to 12 weeks can cost anything from Rs3000 - Rs5000

An abortion for a pregnancy of up to 20 weeks, would mean getting a surgical procedure and can cost anything from Rs5000 - Rs30000

A pregnancy which is up to 21 weeks is prohibited from an abortion.
