My parents are both Indian citizens but for the past 15 years have been living in the USA. They will soon be going to India for a holiday and this time around they wish to get a PAN card made so that they can also get their Aadhar card made.

I would like some assistance in knowing how to get a pan card?

Details like where they need to go and the duration of the process of the card being made.

• You first need you fill out a form which you can get online from incometaxindia.gov.in, which is an official government website.

• You need to first download the form (Form 49A) then print it out

• You need two recent passport size photographs (size 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm)

• Proof of your ID, this can be any of the following: passport, drivers license, voters ID, bank account, water bill, ration card, property tax assessment order, school leaving certificate.

• You will also require proof of residence, which can be any of the following: passport, voters ID, electricity bill, telephone bill, ration card, property tax assessment order, rent receipt.

The completed form along with the passport size photographs and the relevant documents must then be submitted to any IT PAN service centers, with a fee amount of Rs65.
