You can either fly or take a ship from Chennai. To go to Chennai from Bangalore you can do that either by train or by flight.
The port at Andaman is PortBlair.
The ship will take you around 3 days to reach Port Blair.

There are many ways to reach Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Bangalore. Here are the most popular options:

    • By Air: This is the fastest and most convenient way to reach Andaman. There are several airlines that offer direct flights from Bangalore to Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The flight time is around 2 hours 30 minutes.

    • By Train: There is no direct train to Andaman from Bangalore. However, you can take a train to Chennai and then catch a flight to Port Blair. The train journey takes around 24 hours and the flight journey takes around 2 hours 30 minutes.

    • By Ship: There are a few cruise ships that travel to Andaman from Chennai. The cruise journey takes around 3 days. Once you reach Port Blair, you can take a ferry or a boat to other islands in Andaman.

Reaching the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Bangalore involves a combination of air and sea travel. Here are the primary options, including their approximate durations and cost considerations:

    1. By Air (Direct Flight):
      • Duration: The fastest way to reach the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Bangalore is by taking a direct flight to Veer Savarkar International Airport (Port Blair Airport) on Port Blair, which is the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The flight duration is around 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
      • Cost: The cost of direct flights can vary depending on the airline, season, and how far in advance you book your tickets. On average, expect to pay between INR 6,000 to INR 15,000 or more for a one-way ticket per person.
    2. By Air and Sea (Connecting Flight + Ferry):
      • Duration: You can also take a connecting flight from Bangalore to Chennai or Kolkata and then catch a flight to Port Blair. Once you arrive at Port Blair, you can take a ferry to other islands in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago, such as Havelock Island or Neil Island. The total duration will vary depending on the layover time and ferry schedules.
      • Cost: This option may be more economical than a direct flight, but it also takes longer. Be sure to consider the cost of the connecting flights, the ferry tickets, and the time involved.
    3. By Sea (Passenger Ship):
      • Duration: Passenger ships operate between Chennai, Kolkata, and Port Blair. The journey can take approximately 2 to 4 days, depending on the route and the ship's schedule. The duration may be longer during the monsoon season.
      • Cost: Traveling by passenger ship is usually the most budget-friendly option, with fares ranging from INR 2,000 to INR 7,000 or more, depending on the class and facilities. Keep in mind that the cost also includes meals and accommodation on the ship.
    4. By Cruise Ship (Luxury Option):
      • Duration: Several luxury cruise lines offer cruises to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from major Indian cities, including Mumbai and Chennai. The duration can vary, but it's a more leisurely and luxurious way to reach the islands.
      • Cost: Luxury cruise packages can be quite expensive, with prices ranging from INR 30,000 to INR 1,00,000 or more per person, depending on the cruise line and the cabin category.
Your choice of transportation to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will depend on your budget, time constraints, and travel preferences. For a faster and more convenient option, a direct flight is recommended. However, if you're looking for a more budget-friendly adventure, you can explore the sea and ferry options, keeping in mind the longer travel time involved. Be sure to check the latest flight and ferry schedules and book your tickets in advance, especially during the peak travel season.
