Itinerary for Road Trip to Kinnaur

I plan to go on a road trip from Delhi to Kinnaur with my wife, sister and my 2 year old son. The first question which I have is that is it safe to travel to Kinnaur with a small child considering the weather and surrounding.
The time of travel will be sometime between October and November I especially want to cover Chitkaul, so please provide an itinerary suitable for either five or six days.

I will give you an itinerary which I had used sometime back in 2010 and I found it to be good, we had another family with us who had two kids one who was five years old and one who was two years old. Here is the itinerary from Delhi to Kinnaur

Day 1 - Delhi to Narkanda
Day 2 - Narkanda to Hatu Peak to Sangla to Rackcham to Chitkul
Day 3 - Chitkul to Kalpa
Day 4 - Stay in Kalpa
Day 5 - Kalpa to Sarahan
Day 6 - Sarahan to Delhi
