Are there any special events or sights to see for Mahatma Ghandi's birthday? It is a national holiday, after all. I was hoping that maybe there were some interesting memorable shows or traditional exhibits.
I believe they celebrate his birthday by having the day as a holiday. United Nations calls the day, October 2nd, International Day of Non-Violence. I do know they pay homage to him in New Delhi with representatives of different religions present to say a prayer.
Thank you, Sammie. I think it would be very interesting, as many religions respect his teachings. I am sure that people from all over the world attend.
Most of the celebration for the day include prayer meetings and commemorative ceremonies. There are also some poetry readings going on that day if you look for them.
