Mountain Climbing In The Himalayas

What would be the best time of the year to book a mountain climbing tour in the Himalayas. I would love to climb the mountains in India. I head the tours in the Himalayas are extraordinary.

March through June is considered the best time to climb Himalayas. During these months, there will be less frequent snowfalls in the Himalayas,thus considered good time to see the snow-clad mountains. July, August and September is rainy season therefore considered not so good time to travel to Himalayas.

One expert mountain climber who's already trekked the Himalayas a few times said the best seasons for mountain climbing are spring and autumn. In other words, from April to May and from September to November.

There is no definitive answer to this question because each month of the year has its own pros and cons. The weather patterns in the Himalayas are not as predictable compared to other parts of the world. This is mostly because of the altitude. However, it's worth mentioning here that there are two main trekking seasons in the Himalayas. These are pre-monsoon season (February to May) and post-monsoon (October). I hope this helps.

Across the Himalayas, you'd find that the different regions have different climate patterns and onset of rains. Aside from that, some regions suffer from little to medium rainfall only. The far Eastern part of the Himalayas receives the earlier rainfall and the Western part of the Himalayas receives rainfall much later. This can be your guide on what are the best times to visit each region in the Himalayas:

• Kashmir - The best months to trek Kashmir would be from June to September. Due to its location and altitude, Kashmir is only mildly affected by the rainy season. The winter months can be harsh though so consider scheduling your trek during these months.

• Ladakh - The best months to trek Ladakh would be from June to September. Peak tourist season is from July and August as well.

• Himachal Pradesh - The best months to trek Himachal Pradesh would be from October to November. From July to September, the region receives heavy rainfall. From the end of November to late March, the region receives heavy snowfall. Another good time to visit the region would be from March to May.

• Uttaranchal - The same goes here like Himachal Pradesh, although the rainy season might set in earlier here. So it's best visited from October to November and from March to May.

• Sikkim - The best months to trek Sikkim are just the same, from October to November and from March to May. Heavy snowfall during December to February leads to road blocks.

• Arunachal Pradesh - This is best trekked during April or October. This region receives heavy rainfall from May to September.
