A group of us friends are going to Pune to visit some colleges and while we are there would like to visit some places. As we would all be new to Pune we would like some help in knowing the suitable places to visit in Pune with friends. We would like to fit in whatever we can in the 4 days we have there.
Parvati Hill - To get to the top of this hill it takes 108 steps, where you would be able to see the Pune City. On top of the hill, there are temples which you can visit. In total there are four temples one dedicated each to Shiva, Ganesh, Vishnu, and Kartikeya. Aga Khan Palace - This is a historical place in Pune. The Aga Khan Palace is also known as the Gandhi National Museum. There is a Rs5 entry charge. Shaniwar Wada - This is the city's main attraction and is a seven story building. In the evenings there is a light and sound show which costs Rs25 and the entry charge is Rs5. Pataleshwar Cave Temples - These caves are known for their beautiful carvings and are very much like the Elephanta Caves. There is a temple there along with a museum which has a rice grain that has 5000 characters inscribed on it. Mulshi Dam - This is another popular tourist destination and it has been developed in such a way that tourists come and stay at the resorts located by the dam. If you a nature lover and need some place to relax then this is an ideal place to visit. Lohagarh Fort - This is a must visit place simply because of the serene surroundings and see something which was at the time when the Peshwa ruled. Pu La Deshpande Garden - This is the largest garden in Pune and the most beautiful one, with a water canal going through the park.
