Unexplored Tourist Places In Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is a big state with a lot of beautiful places to see and explore, a lot of them which are unknown and unexplored.
There are so many people who go to the usual places like Shimla and Manali, which are places that I would rather avoid going.

I am a kind of person who wants to be at peace when I am on holiday, and I don't mean by being on my own but rather being away from crowds, the hustle bustle, and noise. Another point is that places like Shima and Manali have become overhyped and have lost the natural beauty they once had and to be honest seem more like a city, and I rather not see that.

I want to see the unexplored tourist places in Himachal Pradesh, which have their natural beauty and natural atmosphere with no modernisation. I would like to see people how they live in the area and explore their way of life. The unexplored places of Himachal Pradesh not only will be calm but they would be new and give a new insight to the Himachal Pradesh beauty.

I have three weeks off in which I can easily explore some five to six destinations in Himachal Pradesh, so please mention all the unexplored or lesser known places in Himachal Pradesh.

There are plenty of places you can visit in Himachal Pradesh, which are less known to people or even unexplored you can say. These places won't have the city style to them at all, so you won't find a Pizza Hut branch there and so on, which I think makes the experience better and you get the real feel of nature. Here are just a few of the unexplored tourist places in Himachal Pradesh.

Dharamkot
Dharamkot is a destination just above McLeodGanj, which is ideal for those who don't want to spend a lot on their holiday yet want a long duration holiday. It is a destination where tourists can easily mix with the locals, get an insight to they way they live and their day to day life. Yoga classes and drumming lessons and also conducted in Dharamkot. It is a beautiful destination to just relax and unwind and get an amazing view of Kangra Valley.

Kasol
Kasol is a village destination where you will mainly find trekkers who go towards SarPass, Pin Parbati Pass, and Khiriganga and it is a small village. So if you are a fan of trekking, this is an ideal destination which also provides a view of the beautiful natural valleys. One of the best things to do in Kasol is walking by the Parvati river, see the greenery and admire the beauty of the place.

Tirthan Valley
Tirthan Valley as the name suggests it is surrounded by valleys and location which you would never want to take your eyes off. Amoungst valleys there are also lakes and water streams which adds more beauty to the destination. Tirthan Valley is famous for trekking, camping, rappelling, rock climbing, river crossing, mountain biking and kayaking. It is a perfect destination to make the most of nature.

Thanedar
Thanedar is most famous for its orchards of apple and cherry, which is bliss you love seeing fruits growing and lots of greenery. When you are in Thanedar, you should not miss the chance to pluck the fruits which is a different experience in itself.
There is a church in Thanedar by the name of St mAry's church which is said to be one of the oldest churches in India, along this, there is a Nag Devta Mandir and the Tani Jubbar Lake.

Kalpa
Kalpa is a very large village and is full of pine trees, and again this destination also has some wonderful apple orchards. A popular place in Kalpa is the Kailash Shivling, which changes its color during the different times of the day. Kalpa is a place full of old Hindu temples and Buddist monasteries.

Daranghati
Daranghati is mostly famous for the Daranghati Wildlife Sanctuary. The destination is a quiet, and it seems like it is untouched as it has its natural beauty and beauty. There is a very less number of accommodation options in Daranghati, and you would find more in Sarahan, which is a similar place to Daranghati. Overnight camping is recommended for this destination, just staring at the stars at night and seeing the sun set and sun rise would give you a different experience altogether.

Barot
Barot is a destination where you can experience the real Himachal village life. This is a very less visited place by tourists as compared to the destinations listed above. The natural surroundings in Barot make it a must to visit especially with the river Uhl, which is also across to the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary. Trekking trails are in Barot, so it is an ideal destination for trekkers. There are a lot of outdoor activities which can be done at Barot.

Shoja

Shoja a destination which is slowly is being known but still very less visited by tourists. Shoja is popular for the Serolsar Lake, and you can just sit by and behold the surrounding beauty, you must remember to be by the lake at sunset when the view is to die for.

Pabbar Valley
Pabbar Valley commonly known for the trekking trails which go through the villages in the valley. Pabbar Valley not only gives you a chance to see the beautiful mountains, but also the green forests and not to mention the orchards. To experience more, you can camp in Pabbar Valley and also do some activities like fishing, rafting and also paragliding which is must as you get to view the valley from high above.

There's lots of unexplored destinations in Himachal Pradesh. Like you said, Shimla, Manali, Kufri... They're all a bit commercialised and crowded. For those of you who'd like to explore some offbeat destinations in Himachal Pradesh, then you've come to the right place. You've already gotten a great list there but I'll add more to it. Here they are, the best unexplored destinations in Himachal Pradesh:

1. Shoghi. Who would have known that a place so close to Shimla can be an offbeat destination? At about 13 kms away from Shimla, you'll find Shoghi. This hill station has many to offer especially for trekkers. But the best part is, not a lot of tourists know about this place. Here's some places you can visit here:

• Tara Devi Temple. This temple is dedicated to the Goddess Tara, one of the sisters of Goddess Durga. A wooden idol of the goddess can be found inside the temple.

• Hanuman Temple. You can find beautiful coloured wall paintings in this temple depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.

• Park Woods. The whole park is surrounded by pine and oak trees. It's a nice getaway for those seeking some solitude and peace.

2. Narkanda. For people who love skiing, this place is a gem. There are ski courses available here but not a lot of tourists know about it. This is about 65 kms away from Shimla. Attractions here are:

• Hatu Peak. Trekkers would love this uncrowded trekking place in Narkanda which offers amazing views of the valley from its peak.

• Tannu Jubbar Lake. You can enjoy a picnic here or just bask in the beauty of the lake.

• Stokes Farm. Enjoy a walk along the apple orchards and maybe buy some of these delicious apples.

• Mahamaya Temple. Another temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, this is a great place for introspection and meditation.

3. Chanshal Pass. Ever wanted to trek Rohtang Pass but haven't done so because it's too commercial for you? Then, Chanshal Pass is your next best option, this is about 180 kms from Shimla. You can trek it for the months of May to October, via bike or jeep. You can visit:

• Chanshal Valley. Amazing views of the snow-clad mountains from the top. Although it's not for newbie trekkers or not physically fit people as the climb can be rough.

4. Salogra. The distance of Salogra to Shimla is about 38 kms. Sadly, not a lot of people know about this little town. It's not that developed but if you're looking for some tranquility, then consider this place. A few attractions here are:

• Barog Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and attracts some tourists from other places.

• Krol Ka Tibba. A mountain great for trekking because of its lush greenery and amazing views.

• Streams. You can find lots of streams in here although they are unnamed. It's nice to take a dip or just enjoy their views.
