I think mine would be the Gwalior fort. It is huge and not very crowded and I went there as a kid and wandered around and got lost. It was late in the evening and it really felt like you'd been transported in time. The sound and light show there was pretty epic as well.
Mine is a very typical answer but you can't go wrong with the original. My favorite monument is the Taj Mahal ofcourse if you haven't already guessed. When I went there I found the shrine to be very beautifully made multiplied infinitely by it's historical, cultural and romantic significance. Maybe it's a place you can go on vacation with your significant other.
Yeah, we went to the Taj Mahal too, and sure enough, it is the one monument that I will always remember in vivid detail...from that trip anyways. You just grow up seeing all these pictures of it and you wonder what it is actually like in person, so when you get the chance to actually see it you really need to take it in, which I would like to think that I did pretty well.
Yeah I expected the Taj Mahal to be a common answer here. I think the Taj would be among my favourites for sure, it certainly lived up to my expectations. But the fact that is one of the most famous monuments in the world that slightly detracts from the experience. I enjoy coming across things I hadn't heard of before and being amazed by them. Which is why I liked the fort in Gwalior, I rarely heard anyone mention it before I saw it and I hadn't seen any pictures.
I liked a couple of monuments: Taj Mahal, Agra: This is quite good enough but the weather plays a very important role. Red Fort: Although the entire fort is not accessible but it is surely worth watching. If I had to choose the best one it would be a tier between these and closely followed by the gateway of India in Mumbai.
