I was looking at the train schedules online and realized that there are several long distance trains as well as medium distance ones that ply overnight to their destinations. I want to ask anyone who has traveled in these overnight trains - are they safe?

These trains seem to be very convenient and timely as well because I just checked and all of them start in the morning. There is very little time wasted if you travel by these trains and they seem to be very comfortable from the pictures that I see on the web.
I was looking for a weekend trip because once I reach Delhi I am sure that my friends would like to see the countryside as well. What better way to do so than by going out to the hills for some relaxation and enjoyment.
