If I want to buy real pashmina scarves where in India would I go? Also, how would I know the authentic versus the manufactured ones? I love these scarves and have a few fake ones. I want to get one for my cousin when I travel to India.

After reading the extensive travel guides in this forum, I've come to the conclusion that most of the silk production occurs in South India. Unfortunately, my visit will be limited to Delhi and areas nearby. Are there any areas of North India that are known for beautiful silks?

I am in Hyderabad and have been speaking to some people here who have mentioned that the pearls in Hyderabad are very popular and famous. I would like to buy some for the ladies in my family, but need to know the best places to buy them from and make sure I don't get cheated. Please advise.
