Casinos In India

A friend of mine who will be accompanying me is a very good casino player and wins most of the time. He said that he cannot find any casinos in hotels in India. Are there any casinos at all in India where he can play?

I was looking for the same information online and found that there are a few casinos in Goa. Except for Goa there are none anywhere else. I also play in casinos although I lose a lot of times unlike your friend who wins most of the time.

I don't visit casinos too much and I am sure I won't miss them. But, from my travels, I have found that casinos attract tourists and are a good revenue earner for the economy. I am sure that there are many tourists who travel to Goa for the casinos.

Are there casinos in Goa? I had no idea. I am not in the habit of going to casinos normally, but it would be interesting to visit one just for fun.

My fair spa resorts and casino can be one of the best choice if you are looking for hotels and casino also but it is located in Gangtok. No problem you can visit Gangtok, this can be best choice if you are looking for the adventurous trips and being a hill station it adds a different taste to your trip.

Sadly, I will not be going to Goa although I might visit a place that has many casinos. The place I am thinking of visiting is Nepal which has casinos; but of course, that is going to take place after my India trip.

Hello there!

The Public Gaming Act of 1867 has banned gambling in all states of India. Initially, it was only in 10 states but was later changed to include all the states. By this act, it is illegal to operate a venue or visit a venue with gambling. However, there's no precise definition of gambling in the act which makes it hard to determine what does illegal gambling include.

However, two states have made gambling legal in their region. This is, as you guys have mentioned, Goa and the other one is Sikkim. Goa itself has 12 casinos and Sikkim has two casinos. To discourage people from gambling though, entrance fees are included in the casino rate. But anyway, here are some of the casinos in India:

Goa

• Goldfinger Casino - This is in the Cidade De Goa Resort. There are about 35 slot machines here. Card games here include Baccarat, Blackjack and American Roulette. Major sports event also have betting opportunities.

• Deltin Royale Casino - This is a unique casino as it's on a cruise ride along the river. They have about 30 slot machines. Table games include American Roulette, Indian Flush, Mini Flush, Blackjack, Baccarat, 3 and 5 Card Poker and Money Wheel. Entrance fee here is very high at Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 4,000 per person.

• Crown Casino and Hotel - This casino is located on the first floor of the Crown Hotel. Card games here include Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette or Three Card Poker. The hotel/casino also offers a view of the Mandovi River. The entrance fee here is a bit steep though at Rs. 1,500 per person.

• Palms Casino - This is in the La Calypso Hotel in Goa. You'll find games like Mini Flush, Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat here. There are also a variety of roulettes and slot machines here. The entrance fee varies but it's between Rs. 700 to Rs. 1,500 per person.

• Paradise Casino and Hotel - This is one of Goa's largest casinos, at Paradise Hotel. Slots here are state of the art and modern, with the newer Robotic Arm Baccarat station. Its entrance fee of Rs. 700 includes unlimited food and drinks already.

• Pearl Casino - This is located in the Bogmallo Beach Resort. Here, you'll find Roulette, Mini Baccarat, Blackjack and Tai Sai tables. Aside from that, they have modern slot machines too. An entrance fee of Rs. 700 is required to enter the casino with a valid ID proof.

Sikkim

• Casino Sikkim - This is located in the Royal Plaza Hotel. It has a few gaming tables for Roulette, Flush, Baccarat and Blackjack. It also has a few slot machines in the casino.

• Casino Mahjong - This is located in the Mayfair Spa Resorts & Casino. This casino has about 15 live gaming tables for Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Flush, Texas Hold’em Poker, Kitty, Marriage and Mini Flush. It also has a Poker Room and a VIP Gaming Room. It also has numerous slot machines for guests.

I am not a big gambler, so I don't really frequent casinos much, and from what I hear, there aren't that many casinos in India. Is it something that you and your friend would really miss with everything else there is to do there? If so, then it would be well worth your time to take a trip to Goa and play there.
