Delhi to Himachal road trip

I am planning a 4 week road trip starting from Delhi to Chandigarh to Shimla to Manali to Delhi via Chandigarh. Anyone here got experience of this or similar trip? I need some suggestions and travel tips on the same. I want to spend most of my time in Kullu and Manali only. Is it better to make it in a car or motorcycle trip would be more fun?

I haven't visited chandigarh nor Manali but Shimla.
roads to Shimla are good as far as i know, but who cares for the road quality if you get to see the amazing hilly terrains! Bike journey would be more fun but it could make you feel exhausted.

Road conditions are good in himachal . Travelling on bike would be fun but tiring. You would love the most in old manali, so race yourself to manali then you can visit other locations on your way back..
