Mussoorie is a beautiful hill station located 35 kilometers from Dehradun the state capital of state of Uttrakhand which is a relatively new state carved out of Uttar Pradesh. This sought after tourist place belongs to Uttarakhand state. This hill station is part of the Garhawl Himalayan range. It has got a nickname “The Queen of Hills”. It is also considered as the gateway to the very famous shrines “Yamunotri” and “Gangotri”. March to November is the regular season here. Mussoorie gets extremely cold in winters and they also get some snow once in a while therefore the season is limited to the aforementioned period. Once it was part of Nepal under Garhwal region and Nepal still claims this place. Also, it is only 290 km away from Delhi. It is situated at an altitude of 1880 meters. The varied flora and fauna attracts tourists to this place from everywhere, especially North India. It has snow ranges in the northeast part of it.
