What are the tourist places to visit in Andaman? Is there something interesting or unique in the Andamans region that should not be missed at any cost?

It will be a trip with friends, so we would prefer to visit the places where we can have lots of fun together. We are mainly interested in places of scenic beauty and those which offer water sports activities like snorkeling and scuba diving. Also please include some offbeat places where we won't encounter too many tourists.
 
There are plenty of places to visit in the Andamans region. It depends on how many days you plan to spend there.

Port Blair, Havelock Islands and Neil Islands are the most common tourist circuits in Andamans. Most of the tourists to Andaman visit these three places. If adventure is on your mind, then the Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex at Port Blair can serve you best. Havelock and Neil islands also offer lots of water sports activities including scuba diving and snorkeling. Some of the most popular spots for snorkeling and scuba diving in Andaman Islands are Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, North Bay beach, Radhanagar beach, Corbyn's Cove beach, Bharatpur beach and Avis Island near Mayabunder.

If you are looking for offbeat experience in Andaman, then I would suggest visiting Diglipur and Mayabunder. There are a few stunning beaches in Diglipur, such as Ramnagar, Kalipur and Lamiya Bay beach, which are largely devoid of tourists. If time permits, then pay a visit to the Barren Island, which houses India's only active volcano. The limestone caves at Baratang Islands is another interesting place to visit in Andaman. If interested in marine life, then you may visit the Marina Park Museum at Port Blair and the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park.

We are planning for a 4-days trip. Not sure if the time would permit us to visit all these places, but it is good to know that there are lots of interesting places to visit in Andaman. If not this time, then we can plan another Andamans trip sometime in the future. Anyways, many thanks for the information.
 
Do you include Nicobar? Also, if you intend to stay for several days, you need a good base of operations. The Pearl Beach resort is one of the better hotels. But this depends on your budget. What do you want to spend for accommodation? Keep in mind, tours and travel to certain sites can be expensive. It is cheap enough to drive or hike, but boat rentals can cost, especially if done on short notice.
 
Port Blair will be our base for this Andaman trip. We have booked 3-days accommodation at Tango Waves Resort in Port Blair. We are also planning to spend a day at Diglipur and looking for probable staying options over there.
 
In my experience, when I traveled locally, most of the great places to visit are often recommended by the people who are actually living in the area. So all you have to do is befriend the locals, eat with them, drink with them, talk about their place, and when you ask them about what they would recommend, they would tell you the best sights that are not in any travel guide or online brochure about the place. A quiet lake, a cliff with a view, a waterfall even. I've seen lots of hidden places in my tenure as a nurse on missions in rural areas, and I would definitely recommend trying it. You would be surprised by the results.
