Traveling from Amritsar to Dharamshala

I will be in Amritsar with my family after spending about 3 days there we would like to head off to Dharamshala. What I would like to know if whether there are any government run buses which go from Amritsar to Dharamshala. Any other information provided will be most useful.

The Amritsar to Dharamshala route is very popular and yes there are government buses which go on this route which are the Punjab Roadways and Himachal Transport buses.

Great! Are the Punjab Roadways buses air conditioned?

Plans are slightly being changed and I need to know now whether any trains go to Pathankot from Amritsar?
