This is one of the best hotels in the world according to many. A luxury hotel built in a former palace, it provides an experience worth its own trip. I have seen many people ask for honeymoon or special locations to stay while in India, and would say this hotel is a great option.

Of course, it is very expensive. But most consider it worth the price.

The Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur is truly one of the best hotels in the world. It's actually ranked as the number one hotel in one travel website. Part of the palace is handled by the Taj Hotels, it has about 347 rooms but only 70 are available for guest use. It has mainly three parts: one is for the royal family, the second is the hotel and the third is the museum.

It is built in about 26 acres of land, half of which is a garden. It has different areas, a private hall, a dining hall, a ballroom, an indoor pool, a billiards room and even a spa. The most luxurious room in the palace is the Regal Suite. Then, there's the Vice-Regal Suite along with the Maharaja and the Maharani Suites.

Even famous hollywood celebrities have checked into this hotel. To name a few, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Christian Bale.

If you would like to just visit the palace, that's allowed as well for an entry fee. But you can only do this during the day time.
