Photo Equipment

My friend is a professional photographer and she often travels with all her equipment; however, she has never been to India. Do you think it's a good idea to take all her equipment with her or would it be easier if she could rent it there? Also, are there places where she can rent photo equipment?

I always carry my DSLR and all my lenses since it is difficult to get what you need. I am a professional photographer too and always carry my own kit. Renting stuff does not suit me as I spend weeks reading reviews of equipment that I would like to purchase.

I think renting would be a better option as it saves you from carrying extra luggage.

If your friend likes her own camera she should bring it. The few photographers I know will not leave their cameras behind. They've gotten used to how the camera works and wouldn't want to have to relearn a new one.
